His Love Endures

I have good news. The steadfast love of the Lord endures forever. It will never fail. The prophet Ezekiel proclaimed difficult truths to the captives in Babylon. Israel was steeped in wickedness and idolatry, and in chapter 10 there is a heart-wrenching description of the glory of the Lord LEAVING the temple. Deuteronomy 31:17 foretold of God’s anger and the hiding of his face from His people. The people would face evils and troubles and realize that God was no longer among them. This is a devastating time in Israel’s history. God had raised up a mighty nation, delivered them from bondage, led them through the wilderness, established a kingdom, and dwelt among them. And now his glory was leaving the temple. But his love is steadfast and he had a plan to once again dwell with his people. There is still hope because his love endures forever.

  1. When have you experienced the steadfast love of the Lord? Do you believe that it endures forever? Spend time giving thanks to God.

  4. All scripture points to eternal life in Christ. How does your life bear witness to this truth?

God’s plan to dwell again with his people required sending his one and only son to dwell with us. His perfect life, death and resurrection mean that God can again dwell with his people. That is good news!
