Faithful When We're Not

I have good news. God is faithful to His promises. Sadly, the same cannot be said for people. Not even Israel. In the book of Deuteronomy God told his people to be strong and not fear the pagan nations before them. How is that possible? God said I’m going before you and I won’t leave or forsake you. What a promise! And he kept that promise. Israel, however, would turn their back on God repeatedly. This week we read about Israel looking to Egypt for help, worshipping idols and sacrificing their own children. It’s shocking and disheartening. Does God write them off? Abandon them? No. He speaks through the prophets and warns them to turn. He remains faithful even though his people are not.

  5. Do you consider yourself a temple of the Holy Spirit? How do you honor the Lord with your body? What needs to change?
Just as God promised to never leave or forsake us, Jesus appeared to his disciples and left them with similar words of hope and encouragement. In Matthew 28:20 Jesus told the disciples "I am with you always, to the end of the age." That is good news!
