The Righteous Shall Live By Faith

I have good news. The gospel is the righteousness of God for those who believe. That is REALLY good news because none of us are righteous. Standing on our own two feet puts us fully under God’s judgment and wrath. The cost of our sin is death - it’s what we all deserve. This was true for Abraham and David and it’s true for us. We have no hope if we rely on our works for justification before God. Neither did Israel. The law couldn’t save Israel. It exposed their sinfulness and pointed them to their need for a righteous savior.
Do NOT think for a minute that your attempt at obedience can make you right with God. He is holy and just and cannot tolerate sin. And we ALL have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. BUT GOD. He made a promise and he kept it. He knew both our condition and His. God sent His perfectly righteous Son Jesus to pay our sin debt.
