The Remedy

I have good news. God has a remedy for our brokenness. The book of 2 Chronicles ends with a bleak summary of God’s people. Starting in 36:15, “the LORD, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD rose against his people, until there was no remedy.” There was no earthly remedy. God’s people continuously ignored his pleas for them to return to Him, to obey Him, to worship Him. God could have abandoned His people, but he didn’t. He had a plan from eternity past that would be the lasting remedy. There was still hope for healing and righteousness among His sons and daughters. Our only hope is Jesus!
