God's Word Never Fails

I have good news. Regardless of our circumstance or struggle God’s word will never fail. Throughout the history of Israel, we have seen that those who listen and obey the word of the Lord find favor with God. Those who disregard his word are left to face his discipline. A king is no exception. King Saul repeatedly ignored God‘s command and did what he wanted to do. God told him he would lose the throne and he did. God established his throne with David just as he said he would. Like Israel we can easily charge ahead with little regard for God’s word, but we would be wise to know his Word and obey it. Sometimes our obedience to God’s word will not be the easy choice. It will require sacrifice and discomfort, but it will always be worth it. Praise God that Jesus did not waver in his obedience to God's command. He was faithful to the cross because he knew God's word would not fail.
