All We Need

I have good news. In Christ we have all that we need. He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3). In a world that changes with the latest news cycle, it can be challenging to find truth and security. In fact, we’re not meant to find it in the world. God has given us something greater to build our lives upon. His word. Peter encourages brothers and sisters in the faith that they can trust God’s word. It isn’t a bunch of “cleverly devised myths” but eyewitness accounts of “the power and coming of our Lord Jesus” (2 Peter 1:16). The word of God is trustworthy and all that we need because it’s just that - GOD’S WORD! He cannot lie! He alone is good, holy, righteous. Every word is God breathed and profitable for us. The church needed to be reminded of the power and value of God’s word. It is a lifeline for us that guides and protects us as we seek to live by faith, with virtue, self-control, steadfastness and love.
