Turn Your Eyes

I have good news. When everything around you is uncertain, God is there: faithful, sovereign, and able. In 2 Chronicles 20, Judah finds themselves up against neighboring nations and the king is unsure what to do. He does the best thing possible: he turns his eyes to God. And in doing that, the Lord graciously reminds him to not be afraid because the battle belongs to Him. He reminds Judah to stand firm, hold their position and see what the Lord does. Before God even delivered them the response was worship. The king charges the people to believe God and the people respond by praising Him - the God of steadfast, enduring love. God’s people are always faced with battles - both then and now. God knew we could not handle this on our own. God sent his Son to fight and WIN the war for us. He took our sin upon himself, conquering sin and death once and for all through his perfect life, death and resurrection.
