Even in the midst of hardship and suffering, God is always at work. As we read through the story of God‘s chosen people, we have witnessed God continually working out his great plan of redemption. Though life is hard and struggles surround, he is not far removed from his people. In the days of the judges, Naomi and Ruth had both suffered much loss. Without a husband to provide and with a famine in the land, they were faced with an uncertain future. In his providence, God had planned for this. He was still working. What Naomi and Ruth needed was a redeemer. Their hope was in a kinsman redeemer to take Ruth as his bride. Boaz was a protector and provider. He was generous and kind. And although Ruth was a foreigner, a Moabite, Boaz welcomed and accepted her. He redeemed her. Just like Ruth, we need a redeemer to welcome us in, to care for and provide for us. Our redeemer would come to us through the line of Boaz. “Boaz fathered Obed, Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David.” (Ruth 4:21,22) Jesus was of the line of David, Jesse, Obed &amp; Boaz. &nbsp; In spite of loss, struggle, and famine, God made a way for our redeemer!</p></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="2" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="3" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Week 15</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="4" style=""><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto"><b>Bible Reading Plan</b></p><p dir="auto"><span id="fr-break"></span></p><ul><li><p><a href="https://www.esv.org/Ruth+1/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ruth 1-2</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Acts+3/" rel="" target="_self">Acts 3</a></p></li><li><p><a href="https://www.esv.org/Ruth+3/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ruth 3-4</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Psalm+37/" rel="" target="_self">Psalm 37</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Acts+4/" rel="" target="_self">Acts 4</a></p></li><li><p><a href="https://www.esv.org/1+Samuel+1/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1 Samuel 1-2</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Psalm+120/" rel="" target="_self">Psalm 120</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Acts+5/" rel="" target="_self">Acts 5</a></p></li><li><p><a href="https://www.esv.org/1+Samuel+3/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1 Samuel 3-5</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Psalm+23/" rel="" target="_self">Psalm 23</a>;<a href="https://www.esv.org/Acts+6/" rel="" target="_self">&nbsp;Acts 6</a></p></li><li><p><a href="https://www.esv.org/1+Samuel+6/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1 Samuel 6-8</a>; <a href="https://www.esv.org/Acts+7/" rel="" target="_self">Acts 7</a></p></li></ul></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="5" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="6" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Weekly Content Questions</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="7" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto">Every week,&nbsp;you'll see the same five content questions. What a wonder it would be to walk the road to Emmaus with Jesus after his resurrection when “beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself." (Luke 24:37). Would that awareness - realizing God’s plan to send his Son to redeem His people - have helped his people during the time of the judges? Would they have stayed close to God instead of choosing sin, wickedness, and turning to other gods? The people needed someone to turn their hearts back to God, to lead them in wisdom. Even more than that, the people needed someone to make them right with God. Only Jesus could do that. Only the perfect life of Jesus, his obedience to the point of death on a cross, and his resurrection from the dead could do that for us. Praise God!! Look back at Joshua 21:45 one more time. “Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” That is truly amazing! Can you even imagine? No one has ever perfectly kept their promises. No one except God! He alone is worthy of our praise and worship. That is what makes the beginning of the book of Judges so painful and heartbreaking to read. Although God kept his promises, Israel did not complete the work God had for them. They did not drive out all the nations, and it cost them dearly. One generation later, God’s chosen, delivered people are turning away from God and walking in the way of the nations around them: marrying their daughters and sons, worshiping other gods. It’s devastating. Most of the turmoil through the rest of the Old Testament can be traced back to Israel’s partial obedience. Our need for a savior is magnified as we see who God is and who we are. We need a rescuer, and yet again God will keep His promise!</p></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="2" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="3" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Week 14</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="4" style=""><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto"><b>Bible Reading Plan</b></p><ul><li><p dir="auto">Joshua 14-17; Luke 17</p></li><li><p>Joshua 18-21; Psalm 15; Luke 18</p></li><li><p>Joshua 22-24; Psalm 116; Luke 19</p></li><li><p>Judges 1-3; Psalm 16; Luke 20</p></li><li><p>Judges 4-6; Luke 21</p></li></ul></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="5" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="6" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Weekly Content Questions</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="7" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto">Every week,&nbsp;you'll see the same five content questions. Whether in a pillar of cloud or a pillar of fire, He was there. By God’s provision alone, and in accordance with their obedience, Israel would take possession of and dwell in the land that God had promised them. The courage required for this would only be found in carefully obeying God. (See Joshua 1:7). We are to know his word and allow it to control us COMPLETELY. God heard his people’s cry, he saw their need for deliverance and He kept his promise to set us free.</p></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="2" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="3" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Week 5</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="4" style=""><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto"><b>Bible Reading Plan</b></p><ul><li><p dir="auto">Exodus 1-3; Galatians 5</p></li><li><p>Exodus 4-6; Galatians 6</p></li><li><p>Exodus 7-9; Psalm 105; Ephesians 1</p></li><li><p>Exodus 10-12; Ephesians 2</p></li><li><p>Exodus 13-15; Psalm 114; Ephesians 3</p></li></ul></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-spacer-block " data-type="spacer" data-id="5" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><div class="spacer-holder" data-height="30" style="height:30px;"></div></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-heading-block " data-type="heading" data-id="6" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><span class='h3' ><h3 ><b>Weekly Content Questions</b></h3></span></div></div><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="7" style="text-align:start;"><div class="sp-block-content" style=""><p dir="auto">Every week,&nbsp;you'll see the same five content questions.
