Our Story
Our story starts in 2018, when Grand Avenue Baptist Church of Fort Smith took a step of faith to send some of its own members and resources to replant a church out of the former Emmanuel Baptist Church property on Dallas St in Midtown Fort Smith. The property sits strategically in the middle of the city, across the street from two of the largest Fort Smith schools. After the COVID pandemic in 2020, Cornerstone hit the reset button, sending Aaron Chastain and his family to Cornerstone as the church planter. The remnant of Cornerstone, along with assistance from Grand Avenue and the local association, charted a fresh course that we've been traveling ever since. What once was a few families has multiplied into a gospel community of 100+ people meeting every Sunday, with multi-generational ministry and outreach to the city. We develop new ministries each year, on a mission to make friends, share hope, and follow Jesus. Together.
